I am writing to thank you so much for my appointments with the dentist Shilan Shah. He is fantastic.
I am extremely phobic of dentists!! Not just fearful but really really terrified. I arrived early for my appointment and there was another patient ahead of me (an emergency!) The more I waited in the reception the more anxious I became, I had already taken valium tablets the night before and about an hour before my appontment!. I then couldn't wait any longer and bolted out of the practise. He went out of his way to ring me on my mobile and in some way, I think it was his calm manner he coaxed me back. I was still terrified when I arrived back! The anaesthetist had to give me liquid valium to calm me down but Shilan stayed with me until it had taken effect putting me at ease. I was eventually sedated after a period of time. He gave me confidence and he worked on my teeth for 4 hours (not that I can remember!) He was patient and calm and not at all patronising! At 21 I can honestly say I was really embarrassed at the state my teeth were in and I couldn't believe my smile when I eventually came to that evening. I have agreed to go back for regular check ups. Which is something I have never done before! I have been to see about 4 dentists previously, when I was much younger, but I have either refused to go back or they wouldn't have me back due to my phobia.
I would like to give Shilan all my gratitude and appreciation,
A happy smiling Adam

In May 2013 my 83 year old mother was admitted into hospital for a very serious operation. Whilst in hospital her dentures were disposed of by the nursing staff. My mother was unable to eat to aid her recovery, and was bed bound in hospital to aid her recovery.
I cannot begin to explain how upset and distressed I was about what had happened and the effect on my mothers wellbeing. Matters were also complicated by the fact that my mother is profoundly deaf.
I could not wait until her discharge to replace her dentures and was desperate for a solution! I went on the internet and found Smile Cliniq. I had never used this dental practice before and had no idea whether they would be able to assist. In desperation I sent an email and was immediately contacted the following day by the Practice manager.
I explained the situation. Dr Shah agreed to visit my mother in hospital 8 miles away from his practice the next day at 7.00pm in the evening! I think this says a lot about the Dr Shah and the practice; they understood the urgency of the situation and recognised how stressful the situation was for my mother. They put her needs first. I could not believe how lucky I was to find a dentist who was so patient and understanding.
Dr Shah was helpful, approachable patient and understanding of my mothers disability. He made her feel so comfortable and could not do enough to help us. He explained he had previous experience of working with the elderly while working as a community dentist in a hospital. He understood how difficult it was for the elderly to accept and become familiar with a new set of dentures and how adjustment would take time.

Dr Shah visited my mother in hospital on 3 occasions and then on a further 2 occasions at home to check on her and make adjustments to her dentures.
He was different from other dentists because I felt my mothers wellbeing was the priority for him and seeing her recover from her illness. he adopted a holistic approach to her treatment, pointing out that as she gained weight the fitting of her dentures would improve. He was patient and took great care to explain everything to my mother very carefully.
I would absolutely recommend Dr Shah to my family and friends. He is a caring, patient and highly professional dentist. At all times my mother was treated with respect and with the utmost concern for her wellbeing.I think he has a particular skill in dealing with the elderly.
An excellent service. I wish Dr Shah all the best in his nomination for this award.

Director of Legal Services,
My name is Galia Goldstein and I have been going to Dr Shah for almost a year. He has been an excellent physician.
At the beginning of the year I approached Dr Shah to help me straighten my teeth for my wedding. I had already had orthodontic work and my teeth had moved. He advised me to have the clear braces for 3 months and I have never been happier. Being anxious to have the braces on before the new year, Dr Shah, came especially before Christmas to fit the braces on me. The check ups were regular and I am pleased with the outcome. Dr Shah also advised me on whitening my teeth and which method to approach. I followed his advice and I am really happy with the result.
I would definitely recommend Dr Shah to my family and friends and I will continue to use him as my dentist.

Dr Shah
Sorry it's taken me ages to get this to you. I really appreciate how good you've been with me, and i hope that comes across in my testimonial.
By the way, i've not felt any pain whatsoever since you removed my wisdom tooth! So yay!
"I have seen Dr Shah about 4 times now, and I honestly couldn't ask for a more gentle, patient and considerate dentist. My anxiety has been quite chronic at times, along with having an occasional voice disorder that prevents me from talking; I wasn't made to feel odd, or weird, and Dr Shah took my emotions, and hyper-sensitivity to noise, into consideration with everything that he did, always checking with me if it was ok to go ahead, and if I was alright.
I felt very safe and managed to build trust quite quickly due to his warm and friendly demeanour and would definitely recommend him to others."

Dear Dr Shah
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for the amazing work you have done on my front teeth with the porcelain crowns.
As I explained to you I have thought about having this work done for a great number of years but, for one reason or another, did not get around to it.
Since meeting with you at one of my regular appointments, I gained the confidence to have the work finally done. Also my fears and anxiety with regards to going ahead were soon removed. Your explanation of how the procedure was going to be done, the expected result and the aftercare was very clear and concise.
For many many years I have felt so conscious about my smile with, what I felt, was obvious and visible irregularities of my front teeth, ie. one longer than the other and being quite 'bulbous'. The dental work that you have done has made a very positive difference to my smile and I can now finally smile with complete confidence and am very proud of my new front teeth
I am very grateful to you and really do thank you for your time, patience and expertise in this sensitive matter. I would have no hesitation in recommending you in the future.
Thank you once again and kindest regards.
